Wastewater Treatment Technology: Nine Process Packages
TECHNOLOGY

Nine process packages, engineered to work as one train

Our wastewater treatment technology is not a catalog of equipment. It is nine patented packages. Each solves one point where a complex water plant normally fails, and each hands the next stage something it can work with.

01The idea

What productized wastewater treatment technology means

In our wastewater treatment technology, a productized package has been engineered, patented, built and operated often enough that we know how it behaves before your project starts.

The alternative is a bespoke design, drawn for your plant and proven on your plant, at your risk. On complex water, that is an expensive way to learn.

None of these are sold off a shelf. Which packages appear in your train, and in what order, comes out of your water analysis.

02The principle

Sequence is the technology

Each package decides what the next one receives. Change the order and the plant fails quietly.

A treatment train is not a set of independent units. What the crystallizer produces is fixed by the brine the membranes hand it. That was fixed by the organics the biology left behind. The packages below are not interchangeable parts. They are positions in a sequence.

Separate before you treatRemoving a foulant costs a fraction of destroying it, and it protects everything downstream.
Concentrate before you evaporateMembranes are cheaper than steam. Every cubic meter removed early never reaches the evaporator.
Purify before you crystallizeOrganics left in the brine stain the crystals, and a stained salt has no buyer at any price.

Reverse any of those three and nothing throws an alarm. The plant simply costs more to run and produces something nobody wants. That is why we call this one system rather than nine products, and why we prefer to carry the whole scope.

03The packages

The nine packages, by stage

Four stages, from the front of the plant to the salt at the end.

Biological treatment

Where the organic load and the nitrogen come out. Everything downstream is sized on what this stage leaves behind.

MASF™Modular anaerobic, scale-free

A modular anaerobic reactor built not to scale up. It handles high-strength organic loads without the fouling that takes conventional reactors out of service.

Read the technology page
Short-Cut N/DShort-cut nitrification and denitrification

Nitrogen removed through the shorter reaction path. That cuts aeration demand and the carbon dosed to drive it.

Read the technology page
Bac-FerM™Advanced nitrogen removal

A bacterial fermentation and membrane process for nitrate-bearing water that has no carbon left. Effluent total nitrogen below 25 mg/L.

Concentrate treatment

The two reject streams that decide whether a plant holds its recovery. They fail for different reasons, so they get different packages.

TSMM™Twin-stage material membrane

Two material membranes in series that pull the refractory organics out of nanofiltration concentrate and recover the water behind them.

Read the technology page
CHEMRO™Chemical treatment with reverse osmosis

Chemical pretreatment removes the scale-forming species from RO concentrate, then a high-pressure membrane stage recovers water a conventional rack could not reach.

Read the technology page

Brine concentration and purification

What happens to the brine before it ever reaches an evaporator, and what decides whether the salt at the end is white or brown.

HiBARS™High-recovery brine reuse

Softening, filtration, deep desalination and high-pressure concentration in sequence. Brine goes well past conventional membrane limits, and the thermal duty behind it falls.

Read the technology page
OROX™Brine organic purification

Separation first, oxidation second. Refractory organics are removed by membrane before any oxidant is applied. Removal rises from 10 to 50% up to 50 to 80%.

Read the technology page

Salt separation and crystallization

The stage where a zero liquid discharge plant either produces a product or produces a hazardous waste.

SERECS™Selective evaporation, separation and crystallization

Nanofiltration, thermal or freeze separation, selected from the feed chemistry, so each salt crystallizes on its own rather than as a blend.

Read the technology page
Z-CRYST™Fractional crystallization for ZLD

The full process around the crystallizer. Source segregation, separate reuse routes, brine concentration and purification, then selective crystallization into five salts.

160+ Patents and proprietary technologies

Including more than 30 invention patents. Every package on this page carries its own, and the numbers appear on the individual technology pages.

They come out of three research institutes, 1,500 m² of pilot and analytical facilities, and 18 plants we run ourselves.

04In practice

How the packages become a plant

Landfill and waste-to-energy leachate

Biological treatment, short-cut nitrogen removal, TSMM and CHEMRO on the two concentrates, then a crystallizer on the last 10%. See the mass balance.

Industrial brine and zero liquid discharge

Source segregation, HiBARS concentration, OROX purification and SERECS separation, producing five saleable salts. See the salt specifications.

Delivered as one scope

Process, engineering, equipment, construction and long-term operation under one contract. See how that works.

05Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does a productized process package mean?

It means the package has been engineered, patented, built and operated often enough that its behavior is known before your project starts. We are not designing it for the first time on your water. We are selecting and sizing something that already runs in commercial plants.

Do I have to buy all nine?

No. Which packages appear in your train comes out of your water analysis. A leachate plant and a coal chemical brine plant share some and not others. What does not change is that they are engineered together rather than procured separately.

Can JINGYU supply a single package to another contractor's plant?

Yes. Engagements run from a process package or core equipment supply through to full EPC and long-term operation. We prefer full scope, because that is where a performance guarantee means something. Partial scope is normal work.

How many of these are patented?

JINGYU holds more than 160 patents and proprietary technologies, including over 30 invention patents. Each package on this page carries its own patents, and the numbers are listed on the individual technology pages.

How do you choose between packages that seem to do similar things?

By what limits the stream. NF concentrate is limited by organics and RO concentrate by scaling, so they get different packages even though both are concentrate reduction. The choice comes from the analysis, not from a preference.

Where do these packages come from?

From three research institutes and more than 1,500 m2 of pilot and analytical facilities, and from operating 18 zero liquid discharge plants ourselves. Operating data feeds back into the packages, so they change over time.
