JINGYU Leadership Team: The Engineers Behind Our ZLD Work

The JINGYU leadership team

The JINGYU leadership team is made up of process engineers, not administrators. Zero liquid discharge is not a product you buy off a shelf. Every plant is designed around one specific water, and it only works if the people who designed it can also run it.

Depth behind the org chart

JINGYU employs more than 1,200 people. For a difficult water, what matters is how many of them are technical, and how long they have been doing this.

200+Technical professionals
50+Holders of master’s degrees and senior engineer titles
650+Operations and maintenance staff
3Research institutes, plus a 1,500 m² pilot and analytical laboratory

Founding team

JINGYU was founded in 2009. The founding team still runs the company.

Junfang Xia, chief engineer of JINGYU Environment

Junfang Xia, PhD

Chief Engineer and Director of Operations Technology

PhD in environmental engineering. His career spans research and field engineering in wastewater treatment, zero liquid discharge, and resource recovery. He received first prize in the 2020 Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award. He co-authored the industry standards for industrial sodium sulfate and sodium chloride from coal chemical by-products, and the guidelines for municipal solid waste leachate treatment. He now leads operations technology, engineering technology, and materials testing.

Technical leadership

Between them, the engineers below have spent well over a century on industrial water. Several worked on China’s first full-scale ZLD plants. That is why our process packages come from field experience rather than from a catalog.

Professor Minghong Wu, chief scientist on the JINGYU leadership team
Chief Scientist

Professor Minghong Wu

Foreign Academician, Russian Academy of Engineering and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences

Born in 1968 in Dongyang, Zhejiang. PhD in science, professor, and doctoral supervisor. She currently serves as Vice President of Shanghai University and Dean of its Graduate School.

The team she leads received the 2018 National Natural Science Award, Second Prize, for work on microstructure control in graphene. She also holds appointments as a standing council member of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and of the Nuclear Technology Application Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society. She serves on the review panel of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and as a review expert for the National Science and Technology Awards.

Professor Wu established the Shanghai University–JINGYU Environmental Research Institute. Her work on graphene has already been applied in several JINGYU projects. She leads our R&D team on new materials for wastewater treatment and on other treatment technologies.

Jianwei Lan, dean of the JINGYU research institute

Jianwei Lan

Director, Deputy General Manager, and Dean of the Research Institute

Master’s in chemical engineering from Zhejiang University. Senior engineer and registered environmental protection engineer.

Jianwei has spent his career in wastewater pollution control and environmental engineering. His practical experience in salt separation for zero liquid discharge is pioneering in the field. He has driven the development and field application of several of our core technologies, and has received provincial and ministerial environmental science and technology awards more than once. He now leads technology strategy, the R&D organization, and our core process routes.

Wengang Pan, general manager of the JINGYU EPC company

Wengang Pan

General Manager, EPC Company

Intermediate engineer in environmental engineering, with more than twenty years in industrial water treatment.

Wengang works across water treatment, reclaimed water reuse, ultrapure water production, and whole-plant water system planning. His specialties are high-recovery brine reuse, high-efficiency purification, and crystallized salt recovery. He has published three papers in Materials Protection and the Journal of Fudan University (Natural Science). The team he leads has generated 15 invention patents and more than 30 utility model patents.
