Why does photovoltaic wastewater need ZLD?
Solar manufacturing has concentrated in water-scarce parts of China, where discharge permits are hard to obtain and reuse is a condition of operating. Once the water is recycled, the salt has to go somewhere.
Is photovoltaic wastewater harder than coal chemical brine?
It is different rather than harder. The limiting species are not the same, so the pretreatment differs, but the concentration and crystallization stages follow the same logic.
